Grace (The Funny Thing About It)

So, the funny thing about grace is this: I believe that until someone has grace, mercy, and love for themselves, they will fail to extend it properly to others. In other words, if we seek to project our emotional wounds to others, we do not heal. We stay in denial about emotional wounding and the need for healing.

I say this with much love and grace, of course. Because I know what it is like to be wounded. We all do. We’ve all been hurt by another at one point or time.

How should one handle being hurt? The best way is to search deep and ask God where you might have wounded someone. I suggest being honest with God about if and how you hurt another. I pray you to seek repentance and forgiveness. Thankfully, God forgives. We serve a forgiving God!

However, if you are determined to focus only on the other person and not look within, you will continually struggle through life. Those who only point fingers at others miss the point of love. Love is not self-seeking, and it does not actively harm.

What will you choose?

I choose joy. I choose life. I choose forgiveness. I prefer to heal, love, and let the Holy Spirit be active and alive in my life. I can only produce authentic love by submitting to the will of God - obeying God no matter what.

Prayers always.
