Stay the Course

Stay the Course

“What does that mean anyway, God?” I found myself asking. To “stay the course” was a phrase I had heard several times during prayer.

It could mean… Keep the trajectory. Keep doing what you are doing.

I asked God again today and came upon Psalm 119, a favorite of many. By choosing to walk in the way of the Lord and keeping his precepts. Psalm 119 encourages us to stay on the course the Lord has set for all of us.

What would staying the course look like for you this Fall?

Perhaps you are interested in a new goal but unsure if you’ve done enough to get there. Could you stay consistent in the small thing that God has blessed you?

“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Acts 20:24

I love what Luke says in Acts… we stay the course. To put it another way, keep doing what you are doing. There is beauty in doing, keeping, and consistent work.

Momma, if that means making PB and J sandwiches every morning at the same time, keep it up.

Working mom out of the home, if that makes making sure all the schedules fit and are focused for the week, keep it up.

Perhaps you are single and wondering when to land the job you’ve been hoping for. Keep consistent with your efforts, knowing God will bless those who continually sow unto Him.

We can know that we are on the path that God has set before us.

Like Paul states, we will finish the course before us that we have received from God. It is a good feeling to trust and know you are on the path you are supposed to be on. You are living the life God meant for you.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

-Colossians 3:23-24

God has uniquely gifted you. You can work, write, live, and enhance others’ lives in a way no one else can!

Stay steady and know you are on the right path.
